Let me introduce myself. My name is Geoff Wood and I have the distinct honor of serving as the President of The John Paul Jones Chapter of The Sons of The American Revolution. It was, and continues to be one of the great moments in my life when I finished tracing back to my own Revolutionary War ancestor, Balthasar "Baltzer" Hamme of Dover PA. He, along with his brother Christian served in the Fourth Company, First Battalion of the York County Militia. He and his brother both served in The Flying Camp. His Brother was wounded at the Battle of Brooklyn. Baltzer also fought in the Battle of Monmouth. He later enlisted again, serving locally including guarding prisoners from Yorktown.

It was an honor for me to become a member of The John Paul Jones Chapter where I have served as Vice President and now as President. Our chapter has a busy and exciting year planned including patriot grave marking ceremonies, quarterly meetings, a ceremony in the fall in Annapolis honoring our French comrades who died during the march to Yorktown campaign are buried there, as well as a number of State Society gatherings. We will honor our chapter's namesake in December with a wreath laying ceremony at John Paul Jones Tomb under the Chapel at The Naval Academy.

We are also active in the community working with schools to present patriotic medals and awards to outstanding students and citizens in the area. We would be honored if you contacted us to find out about joining us. You'll be surprised as it's not as hard as many think! We look forward to you joining us in honoring our Patriot ancestors and our great nation!
